In addition to some interesting sporting moments, this weekend's UFC tournament featured some truly horrific injuries.
In addition to the usual lacerations, which bleed a lot but are trivial in the final, we saw an elbow turned to an absolutely horrible angle.
The duel between Brazilian Nunes and Russian Dudakova ended in the worst possible way in the first round. The fighter from the South American martial arts mecca needed to get on a winning streak after three straight losses, but now she is asking herself if this was the end of her.
Her opponent, on the other hand, maintained her unbeaten record.
"I didn't know too much about what was going on. I could hear her screaming. I wanted to continue because the referee had warned us before the fight that only he could stop the fight. Luckily, he did it within moments," the DWCS participant described the ugly moment on her Instagram. The stoppage of the fight was, of course, on the spot.
After about half a minute, Dudak committed to a takedown, which her opponent was unable to defend in time. Falling to the ground, she left her left arm under her, which could not take her weight and bent the wrong way. It was an exemplary elbow dislocation that ended the match after only thirty-four seconds.
